Title page of the presentation: design, requirements

Title page = face of work. When it comes to presentations, this face will be shown not to one teacher, but to the whole audience. Of course, I want to show it pleasant and correct. Here we will show you how to style the first slide of your presentation.

What to write on the title slide of your presentation
The title page of the presentation is the first slide. It gives the audience an insight into the work and the speaker.

A presentation is not an electronic version of a report / coursework / diploma. This is an addition to the performance. Visual images are placed there that will help to perceive information.

The title page requires:

  • research topic,
  • your last name,
  • initials,
  • group number.

Mention of the teacher may be required, similar to a title page on paper; year and city at the bottom of the slide.

In some universities, it is required to copy the title page of the work into the first slide of the presentation, adapting the text to the layout of the screen.

In the most common PowerPoint, typesetting is done using a simple top and side ruler and text formatting functions. Pay attention to the layout: curves and asymmetric elements, protruding letters, text close to the frame of the slide - all this spoils the appearance, like a jacket that is two sizes large. Align the text and place it evenly in relation to the edges of the slide, center, and other elements.

The use of graphics in the title slide is allowed only if it is appropriate. For example, the logo of a university or organization that you are talking about. There is no need to insert a picture or a pattern for beauty (only if the work is not in design).

Presentation title slide design style
When meeting the audience, it is important to convey that you are great, you need to listen to you carefully and finish the speech with applause. And of course, give you an A. But, of course, you cannot say this out loud. How then to designate yourself as a good fellow and an excellent student?

A business style is useful for educational work.

Decorate the title page appropriately: neat, simple, strict. No curls, speckled spots and obscure elements that PowerPoint puts in its standard templates.

We do not recommend taking standard templates, except for the first one, which has only a white background and black letters. Avoid Comic San and the like, complex colors in design, small, tightly stitched letters and any animation - it looks very bad from a projector.

Follow the same principles when creating your presentation in other programs. Prezi, Slideshar or Google Slides editors know how to look more formal and solid than the usual PP. If this software is not supported by computers in classrooms (and you need to know this in advance), the work can be facilitated by downloaded templates for Power Point with ready-made design solutions, if you can find among them a suitable one in appearance.

When students needed to write their own thoughts about communication, many of them strugling due a lack of writing skill, however they may decide to seek help and look for paperhelpwriting and write to writing service, they will provide unique content in no time.

Presentation cover page tips
There are special rules for designing a presentation to make it better and better. Here are some tips for decorating your presentation title page.

  1. Don't just use white backgrounds and black text. You can apply some color schemes to attract and interest your audience. Pay close attention to the compatibility of colors, choose them in such a way that the text does not get lost in the background and is readable.
  2. Minimalism is trending now. This means that you should not overload your slide with applications, play with fonts, add shadows, animations and gradients. Stick to a strict and concise design.
  3. One color scheme. Choose 3-5 colors that are the most attractive and compatible with each other. You should not choose very bright colors, it is better to look at a calmer palette. Decorate your presentation in selected colors. Use a maximum of 3 colors on one slide so that your work doesn't look too clumsy.
  4. You don't need to use all the fonts that are in the program. Choose a maximum of three: for headlines, quotes, and plain text.
Choose fonts that read well. They should be sans serif and ornate.
  5. Highlight important thoughts in a different color, italic, or bold to draw your audience's attention to this detail.
  6. Leave space between pictures and text. Do not sculpt all the elements on top of each other. Use wide spacing between lines. This will make your presentation look more organized and serious.
  7. Do not use justified text alignment. This feature creates too large spaces between words.
  8. You can place a picture on the title slide if it fits the theme. You can also make the image a background. Don't forget to stretch it across the slide and increase the opacity to make the text easier to read. Insert only one picture per slide.
  9. Don't use all the animations provided by the program. Pop-up text, pop-up pictures, and falling outlines distract attention from what's important. Use one slide transition effect to make your presentation look formal.

Preparing a presentation is a creative process that allows each student to reveal themselves. But here it is important not to overdo it and adhere to a single official style.
